Experienced Zivio dancers will teach South Slavic and Balkan folk dances on Wednesdays beginning mid-September. The first hour, beginning at 7:30, will be geared to beginners. As the evening wears on the experienced dancers show up and the fun begins. Click on the flyer below to enlarge and print out.
Learn dances so you can participate in our Kolo parties, Greek festivals, Macedonian Vecherinkas, A World A’Fair, etc. Or learn to dance for fun and great exercise. No experience necessary, nor is any partner needed.
This all takes place at the Czech Club, 922 Valley Street, Dayton, OH. For more information you can email us. For members the lessons are free and for non-members there is a one-time fee of $10.00.
Starting in January, still on Wednesdays, beginning at 6:30 a group especially for kids (must be at least 5) teaches simpler dances – until the older kids get bored, then things pick up.
There’s a series of instructional videos for a variety of dances on youtube for those who want to get a sense of what Balkan dancing is like.
